Stakeholders and funding

The need for a new fully-serviced building to nurture local enterprise was conceived by City of Lincoln Council working with Lincolnshire Enterprise in 2004.

Innovation in the broadest sense was identified as the main priority for the area, so it made sense to focus the development of the new building on fulfilment of that need. The City Council set about developing a business plan and funding package to support the project, which also required cross party political support from across Lincolnshire. The latter was key to the bid and was achieved, alongside a collaborative funding package secured from East Midlands Development Agency (emda) and European Regional Development Fund (Objective 2) in 2006.

Think Tank was completed on time and on budget in December 2008. The total build cost was £7.1m.
